Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs received an $1 salary last year, according to documents filed by the electronics manufacturer on Monday.
Although, don’t be fooled despite the fact that Steve is a dollar billionaire he still owns more than 5,4-million in restricted shares, worth about $496-million (R3,5-billion) on Monday at the close of trading.
Shares of Apple have soared in the past year on the back of stronger computer sales and revenue from its iPod portable music player sales. Apple’s market capitalization has grown to more than $78-billion, and industry analysts expect Apple’s fortunes will only swell with the iPhone, a smart phone-iPod combination scheduled to go on sale in June.

It seems Google wants to kick out Microsoft from its throne which it has been holding for so many years. Google will be targeting Microsoft PowerPoint with a yet to be named free presentation software. You won’t have to wait much longer for this software as it will be unveiled this summer with Google Apps. It already comprises of free spreadsheet, word processing and calendar programs. You will be able to use it online but can save and view the files offline too. You had been shelling out more than $300 to avail Office suite but Google surely plans to make it a history with its free software.Eric Schmidt, CEO, Google stated:
We believe we can bring presentations to a new level of user satisfaction. We don’t think it competes with Microsoft, because it doesn’t have all the functionality of Office. It’s a different way of sharing information, more casual, and a better fit to how people use the Web
The CEO of the company states that they are not targeting Microsoft but this is hard to believe and by offering similar software and that too free of cost it seems that Google would surely be able to eat into Microsoft’s Office customers at some point of time.

Facebook are cosidering launching a classifieds section. You will be able to post ‘junk’ in your network at no cost or pay a small fee to post to other networks. A swoop of changes last summer resulted in a serious whiplash from unhappy Facebook users. This time round they are taking a more cautions approach with the sneak preview group and releasing a survey to its users.
Imagine the business opportunities this will create for entrepreneurs to sell goods or services to their college network or negatively, the ability for spammers to tap into Facebook’s userbase.
Below a screenshot of the survey - for the scoop shoot over to Mashable!

About 10 hours ago Google announced that they have agreed to acquired DoubleClick for $3.1 billion in cash (nearly double the size of their YouTube Acquisition which was in stock).
This is bad news for Microsoft has they now fall even further back in the online advertising race. DoubleClick’s $300 million turnover a year will help Google further cement their place as contextual advertising leaders.

Myspace has been a source of traffic for various social start ups such as Photobucket, Slide and even Youtube. The video sharing site gained millions of visitors from their embeded videos on Myspace’s user profiles. If you look at virtually any Web 2.0 application, whether it’s Flickr, whether it’s Photobucket or any of the next-generation Web applications, almost all of them are really driven off the back of MySpace.
