We’re told that Facebook will be launching its joint project with Comcast’s Ziddio, Facebook Diaries, at about 9 p.m. tonight. The eight-episode weekly series spotlights topics like heartbreak, road trip, and wild nights, with pilot episode “Who Am I” already queued up at http://www.facebook.com/diaries.

Facebook has been playing around with the project for a while now since announcing it in February, even shooting some of its own video, but the series will be completely user-contributed clips, with editing and motion graphics by producer R.J. Cutler of Actual Reality Pictures.

Randi Zuckerberg, a two-time NewTeeVee Pier Screenings runner-up (and sister of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg), is one of leaders on project.

If you’re a WordPress blogger + Firefox user, then this plugin is definitely worth considering. Anirudh created this plugin which integrates into your Firefox browser, giving you a shortcut to install themes and plugins for WordPress with just a click of your mouse. The most attractive feature? You don’t need to go through the hassle of downloading files into your own pc, unzipping, then uploading using a ftp client. The Firefox extension installs and uploads the theme or plugin you want directly from its zip location into your blog folder for you from your browser, hence OneClick!

This week Mashable is soft-launching a much needed addition to their ever growing network: a single place to buy, sell and trade modern websites, services and more.

Increasingly, companies are listing themselves on eBay and other marketplaces, but telling us they got more leads from Mashable. Pligg, for example, told us about the sale before anyone else. Or folks are trying to sell their Facebook applications, provide development services for Facebook applications and MySpace widgets, looking for suitable job candidates, looking to advertise their events and so on. Clearly, there needs to be a single point for all this activity.

Part of the source code of Facebook has been leaked. This means people might have your password and information… Now how secure is Facebook? How much damage will it bring to the “company” that was just starting to get extremely popular? They posted a comment on the Techcrunch blog post regarding this stating no user data was compromised.

Here is some of the leaked code

New version of Reddit to launch soon

Published by on Aug 12th, 2007, No Comments

reddit

Reddit, the social news site, is nearing completion of their next version. They still have a short list of items to resolve, but it should be pretty much complete this week. Early next week they will begin exposing the new system to its users and do some limited testing. Since they basically rewrote most of the Reddit system, they will go through a period of testing and allow its users to bang on the new system before they flip the switch.

Reddit has always lurked in the shadow of Digg and even launched a few weeks after the number one social news site. Hopefully the new version of the site can push it into the lime light.

Goalmigo is a social website that motivates people to reach their goals. The website offers a complete online system for setting, tracking, sharing, and achieving goals. Looking to see what people have posted so far showing things as insightful and unique as “lose weight” “be healthy” “find a job” and “post five things to the goalmigo blog”. The interface is clean and organized. Great for those who need some extra impetus in their lives. Once you’ve registered simply jot down your goals (quick description, title) and the date by which you’d like to accomplish them.

Some of the functionality is outlined on their blog

Define your goal – Goalmigo makes it effortless to define what you want to achieve, how you will get there, and when you will finish.

Involve friends and family – Goalmigo’s system for involving friends and family as “supporters” offers a boost in motivation by providing a source of accountability. Supporters receive weekly updates on how you are doing and can offer encouragement and advice.

Track your progress – Each goal receives its own webpage (that you can make private) where you can write updates and log your progress.

“The strength of Goalmigo comes from the fact that it bolsters offline relationships—relationships with the people you already know—in order to help you achieve your goals,” says the founder of Goalmigo, Christopher Cummings.
