Product Comparison Startup Testfreaks, Launched in South Africa
A consumer review site that aggregates opinions about a large range of devices, TestFreaks recently launched their South Africa website.

Developed by Kristofer Arwin, Magnus Wiberg and Martin Alexanderson (founders of PriceRunner.com in 1999), TestFreaks raised $3mn in October 2008 and aims at creating the world’s largest product review database. Both in terms of completeness (number of reviews) and audience. Today they’re present in 27 countries and receive an aggregated traffic that exceeds 4 million monthly users.
One thing that sets TestFreaks apart from our competitors is our global perspective. We are currently present in 13 different languages and markets, and gather information from more than 50 different markets. This makes as unique and has a positive impact on many things.
Although I don’t understand why there’s a need for local reviews other than language constrains (which is not the case with South Africa), TestFreaks is probably going to capitalize on the domain extension that will bring them better search results in local markets.
Was it a good job? Probably, but only time will tell if TestFreaks can compete with the traditional shopping sites that have their own reviews. What do you think?
Meanwhile, here’s www.TestFreaks.co.za!
PS: I may sound like a smart-ass but why is testfreaks.co.za only “working”. You’d better get your redirect in there, guys …

What a crap site. A simple comparison on their 3 top rated TVs and the only specs returned are Aspectratio, Screen Size, Brightness and Lcd. Surely if you don’t have all the data on the inventory you are reviewing, which is a core aspect of your site, then people won’t use you? I won’t be back.

I’ve already mailed them about copyright infringement – they’re stealing content to fill their own review sections…

Who is “them” that you mailed? So you’d rather have “nothing at all” that can be infringed upon? Who is “they” that are stealing content to fill their own review sections? No offense, but you seem too insecure for a social page, don’t you think?
I left my website banner -have at it all you want because actually any site set up as well as pages can be stolen in whole content and then rewrote with html/css no matter how much protection such as AJAX one uses. However, most are not knowledgeable of such a fact yet still even those that do know tend to have a code within that says “I don’t need your BS for I can do it better.”
There is an old saying, “The accuser is usually the doer.” I encourage you to take a risk on your fellow man & stop robbing your viewers of a pleasurable visit.
Additonally,
I could not access location on your meta tag/keyword/site-discrption: Oh yeah, there’s a “one account manages multiple profiles” slogan, but I’m not … offers and I don’t think Moli will take on FaceBook or LinkedIn any time soon. …
Appaarently, you hit the nail on the head with that forecast so you obviosly has what it takes to make a review.
Best wishes….and I will be back just to pass through to see if you develop any.
