There have been good Spider-Man games, there have been bad Spider-Man games. The only thing that’s really certain is that there will always be a next one, and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is it. In it, you play Peter Parker’s superhero self in each of four different Marvel universes. A ludicrous plot will tie them all together, no doubt. Comic book universes are a complicated, and often logically inconsistent concept, but their one strength is that we get to see our favourite heroes in a completely different art style. (more…)
We felt quite clever when we figured out that “Other M” is an anagram of “Mother”. But not half as clever as this really, really fast gameplay trailer for Metroid: Other M, coming to the Wii between June and July.
Although it was first outdone by Bayonetta, then completely eclipsed by God of War 3, Darksiders was a good game. For consoles, that is.
But PC users will soon be able to join in the fun. THQ is tailoring the game for desktops and lappies, and it should be out by June. On another note, who is getting tired of these delayed PC releases?

Independent Apple resellers Digicape and Project 3 last week announced their plans to merge and form a single, premium provider of Apple products to the South African market.
Digicape itself is the product of a merger that took place back in 2001, when two small Apple resellers teamed up to take on the market. Digicape director, Robin Olivier, says, “We see the merger with Project 3 as being a natural progression of the strategy, but now rather than just looking for scale, we are looking to benefit from the significant combined strengths of each business to create an unsurpassed Apple experience for our customers.”
Although Digicape and Project 3 compete in a number of markets, each has its own particular strengths: Digicape dominates in the tertiary education, photographic and visual markets, while Project 3 is stronger in the primary and secondary education sector, and has captured a large share of the audio and video market.

Alan Goldberg, director at Project 3 says, “By pooling our resources we can ensure that all our customers get exactly what they need, with additional services readily on tap. We can offer a total package of market insight, basic to advanced training, excellent customer service and a depth of technical expertise through our Apple service centres.”
It seems that integration will take place slowly rather than suddenly. Olivier says that they plan to ensure that no-one – whether staff member, supplier or customer – is left behind in the process.
During the first phase of the merger the two companies will work together at a management level to find ways to play to the strengths of each business. So for instance, if you buy a product from the Digicape store you might be offered training at Project 3, while if you’re searching for a product on the Project 3 website you may be pointed to Digicape’s online store instead.
Digicape has stores in both Johannesburg and Cape Town, while Project 3 is based exclusively in Cape Town.
Oh boy, we love a stylish trailer. And while the recent Ghost Recon vid still gives us the chills, there’s still a little something missing to make it ten-out-of-ten perfect: Johnny Cash. (more…)

Everyone thought badminton was going to be the next big thing. Three years later and still no rugger on a next-gen console. Criminal.
Mark it well: 2011. No, it’s not the year the world ends, silly. That’s when, finally, it gets a new rugby game. The last game to tackle the sport was EA’s Rugby 2008. We’re not quite sure if they are involved again this time around, but what we do know is that HB Sports is officially working on an all new rugby game for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Oddly, the game was announced on The Rugby Forum, an obscure source for gaming news if ever there was one. These okes seem to be official partners in the game, which has us scratching our heads a bit. Since when does an ancient-looking web forum get to slap their name on a next-gen video game?
We await the first screenshots, and further news, with great interest.

With the FIFA World Cup™ fast approaching, football fever is taking over. People around the world are using the internet not only to learn about the tournament but also to decide on which tourist sites they will be visiting.
It’s no secret that the tourism sector will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of the tournament, with international visitors to South Africa indulging in the country’s natural beauty and appreciating its historical sites. Last year the South African public voted on the country’s most popular tourist sites for Google’s Street View Trikes campaign that ran in conjunction with SA Tourism – as reported on our Africa Blog.
This month’s Google Zeitgeist shows the countries that are demonstrating the most interest in visiting these South African sites, and then reveals that three of the top five coincide with those countries buying the most tickets for the World Cup.
We’ve included these rankings below, which show the country’s top tourist sites, source markets and top ticket buying countries:
Most globally popular (or searched for?) tourist sites in South Africa in 2010
Top countries searching for ‘South Africa tourism’ in the past year
Now compare that Top World Cup™ ticket buying countries (according to the Local Organising Committee)
