Infographic: How are Mobile Phones Changing Social Media?

Published by on Aug 15th, 2011, 2 Comments

Those of us who are addicted to our mobile phones (hold on, who is not?) know all to well that accessing social media sites like Facebook and Twitter is a lot easier on your phone than on a PC, and in many cases, a lot more useful. Instead of waiting until you are in front of a computer, you take out your phone and access the sites right on the spot, and keep your friends (or followers) updated. So here we have a great infographic from the guys at Flowtown to explain how phones have affected social media.

Some interesting Stats:

  • People who access Facebook from their phones are twice as active on the social network.
  • There is a good spread across all age ranges for people accessing social networks from their phones. Clearly, it is not only the young ones who do it.

If you cannot see the infographic, please click through. You might want to click on the image to open it on its own, and then zoom in. Yeah, its a big one.

The expierence you gain from your mobile is of a high, weather in social media or just plain websurfing, this is our current worldwide station of communication we cant change much of that and yes it is highly addicted. However with every addiction comes side effects and withdrawel issues and side effects…… if my network or Wi-Fi on my computer bums out then its okay cause we use to it…. but have that happen to your phone….network crashes on mobiles have a bigger in pack then that of an internet cafe or moderm at home. …..South Africa had a new mobile registration system introduced in 2009, by law you needed to register you network simcard before the end of June 2011… and on the last day of registration 1 of SA’s biggest networks crashed for more then 12 hours……that ment no  contact…..,So ask yourself if people already get upset when mxit, facebook , etc. shuts done for a few hours what will happen the day that the entire social world via our mobiles crashes…???? WORLD WAR
