Facebook has recently announced the introduction of a new app called Facebook Camera. The new mobile app, currently only available for iOS was designed to make using Facebook photos faster and simpler and perhaps even compete with its very own. The introduction of the new app comes not long after the social network acquired Instagram for a cool $1 billion.
The new app, available for free download from the App Store, provides improved capabilities already offered by its primary app for iPhone and iPad touch devices.

Once the app has been launched on your mobile device, a feed of your friends’ photos will appear which you can tap to enlarge or swipe to see more from a particular album.
Instead of having to post one image at a time, you can now share multiple images and upload them to your Timeline all at once by selecting the images that you want with a ‘tap’ and then hitting ‘post’. Before you share, you can also tag photos or add a caption.
Similar to the features offered by Instagram, images can also be edited with new tools that allow you to crop, rotate and add filters (choosing from 14 available).
According to The Verge, Facebook is considering launching the app for other platforms.
