Vodacom has announced the launch of the Vodafone Smart II, an affordable android smartphone which is set to cater for a large majority of consumers who are currently missing out on the smartphone journey. This affordable smartphone will be available at Vodacom World in Midrand and other participating outlets from 07 October 2012.
The Vodafone Smart II will be available on a special launch deal, on the Top Up 99 Yebo4Less package at R79 per month. The recommended selling price on prepaid is R1 299. Prepaid pricing may vary at the retail outlets.
Zunaid Dinath, Chief Officer Sales and Distribution said, “Our focus is to bring affordable smartphones to the market at price points attractive to a large number of people who are not using smartphones today. The Vodafone Smart II will allow this new wave of customers access to a new world of applications and the mobile Internet.”
The Vodafone Smart II comes with three coloured back cover rims and three coloured back plates and has the following features: A brand new Broadcom 21552 chipset with 832 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM; high-speed 3G HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity; 3.2 megapixel camera with white LED flash; and the latest Assisted GPS (AGPS) technology for rapid and accurate mapping and navigation functions.
