According to The Loop, Apple has announced a special event to be held on 23 October 2012 at 10am PT in San Jose with a special invitation (seen above) sent out to various members of the media on Tuesday.

Unlike other recent events that have been held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Apple will hold this event at the California Theatre in San Jose.

While the colourful rainbow design of the invitation gives few hints about what Apple might announce, the word “little” could be a clue.

It is widely expected that Apple will use this event to unveil the iPad Mini, amongst other unconfirmed devices including a new Mac Mini and a 13-inch MacBook Pro with retina display.
