Steve Wozniak has always had wacky ideas when the rest of the world looks mute and dull. He created the personal computer as a kid when experts said it can’t be done, remember? Although he isn’t an active member of the Apple engineering family anymore, he still has lots to say about his beloved Cupertino.
We’ve heard that Steve is a fan of the Nokia Lumia smartphones, but Android? At Apps World North America he mentioned that he thinks Apple should consider building an Android phone so that the company could “play in two areas at the same time.” Android is of course an open source operating system, so there is no reason why they couldn’t. He added that “there’s nothing that would keep Apple out of the Android market as a secondary phone market.” He went on to say that people adore Apple’s designs and the philosophy they bring to their products, therefore there’s no reason why they couldn’t do the same thing with an Android device.
We would love to see Apple take a crack at Android. As we know them, they would probably build a better Android phone than most OEMs. It could actually be a good strategy, as it could be used to build a budget phone. Consumers (and us alike) have been yearning for a budget Apple device.
What do you think? Would Apple build a proper Android phone?
