Since Samsung accidentally confirmed the Galaxy S4 mini on its Apps site, we all knew that it was, without a doubt, on its way and now Samsung has officially announced the latest edition to the Galaxy mini range on its official global blog.
The announcement comes ahead of its official launch at the Samsung Premiere 2013 event in London on 20th June.
Well, the rumours weren’t too far off when it came to the new device’s specs. The S4 mini features a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, a 1.7GHz dual core processor (rumours speculated 1.6GHz), an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.
The device, that runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) weighs in at 107g – 23g lighter than its counterpart.
Special features of the camera include Sound&Shot, storing sound and voice together as pictures are taken and Panorama Shot. Photos can also be arranged in a smart format with the Story Album function.
According to Samsung “commercial availability of the GALAXY S4 mini supporting either 4G LTE, or 3G HSPA+ or 3G Dual SIM, will be determined by market.”
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is available in two colours – White Frost and Black Mist.
