Excitement is mounting as final judging for the Startup Knight competition approaches.
Now that the fifteen finalists have been selected, the judges and finalists are preparing for the last leg of the competition where the finalists will pitch their ideas to the judges in a short predefined format.
Startup Knight, conceptualised and hosted by Byte Orbit, is an event created especially for software based tech startups that are preparing to start a viable business.
Prizes for the winning startup selected by the judges include Microsoft software packages, $60 000 worth of Azure Services, office space for 6 months, Nokia products, 8ta’s 3G data modem loaded with their 60Gig + 60Gig offering and R100,000 worth of development provided by Byte Orbit.
The Startup Knight team was blown away by the quality of entries and they reported that the task of narrowing down the fifteen finalists was truly taxing and difficult.
It is encouraging to see such great talent take up the challenge to turn great ideas into sustainable businesses.
The entries covered an array of industries and ranged from an advance content management system to an algorithm that changes words on a website to make reading easier to the unschooled.
