The Samsung Galaxy S4 launches in NYC

Samsung has officially introduced the much anticipated Galaxy S4, at an official and reportedly over the top launch event in New York City’s Times Square yesterday with the Korean company calling the new flagship device a “life companion”.
While speaking on stage during the presentation, chief of Samsung mobile JK Shin said that the development behind the S4, that “will enhance the way we live”, was based on feedback received from consumers all over the world about what they want and need from their smartphone.
Shin also confirmed that the S4 will feature ‘Smart Scroll’, hands free gesture control, ‘S Translator’ that provides instant voice to text or text to voice translation on apps, ‘Air View‘ that allows users to preview content by hovering their fingers over it and a number of other gesture control features.
Other specs of the device include:

  • 16GB HD with 32, 64 and microSD
  • Corning‘s Gorilla Glass 3
  • 13 megapixel rear facing camera

  • HSPA+42 Mbps and 4G LTE support
  • WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (HT80)
  • 1.9 GHz Quad-Core Processor / 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor

According to Samsung, the S4 will be available globally from Q2.
