It was a very busy week for Motorola. Not only did they announce their new Moto X Style and Moto X Play smartphones, but their mid-tier champion Moto G has also been given the updated treatment.
As we expected after numerous leaks, the Moto G 2015 features a five-inch display with 720p resolution (294PPI), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB and 2GB of RAM versions, 8GB and 16GB storage options, both expandable via microSD card (8GB of ROM for the 1GB of RAM variant, and 16GB of ROM for the 2GB of RAM version), 13MP main camera, five-megapixel webcam, 2,470mAh battery, and LTE capabilities.
It will include the same software customisations that we saw on the Moto X, and they are extremely useful and the ease of use is incomparable. In case you didn‘t know, the Moto G is Motorola‘s best-selling smartphone of all time, so they need the new one to be just as successful.
This third generation Moto G is also water-resistant this time around, for those that want to take a selfie in the shower.
The phone will cost only US$180, so in line with what we saw with previous version. We‘re hoping to get our hands on this device soon, but until we do, check out Motorola‘s announcement video:
