Pebble unveils its new Time Round smartwatch

Smartwatch maker Pebble have had a bumper year; following the successful launch of its flagship Pebble Time smartwatch, the US company has now launched a brand new contender: the Pebble Time Round.
Where previous Pebble smartwatches have sacrificed design to lend themselves towards usability and connectivity, the Time Round breaks this trend by offering a new focus on design.
The Time Round has claimed the title of the world’s thinnest and lightest smartwatch, and is indeed a far cry away from the blocky smartwatches that have previously dominated Pebble’s lineup.

The Time Round weighs in at a miniscule 28g and measures up at just 7.5mm thick

The Time Round will maintain an always-on colour e-Ink display, and will arrive in two band size options; 14mm and 20mm. Further, the new smartwatch will be available in three body finishes – black, silver and rose gold.
Weighing in at a miniscule 28g and measuring up at just 7.5mm thick, the Time Round pips the Apple Watch (40g and 10.5mm respectively) to the post.
Pebble claim that the Time Round will last for up to two days on a single charge, and will recharge to a day’s worth of battery life in just 15 minutes. The Time Round’s battery life – while impressive on paper – falls short of previous Pebble models, likely due to its smaller frame.
Time Round prices start at $249 USD.

In a first for Pebble, the Time Round won’t necessitate a crowd-funding campaign; consumers are able to reserve a Time Round today from the Pebble Website, with prices starting at $249 USD.
The Time Round will work with both iOS and Android, and is expected to release in the US in early November. Consumers in the UK or Europe will need to wait until 2016 before the Time Round becomes available, however.
