Surface Book pre-orders are "huge" according to Microsoft

The self proclaimed Mac Book Pro killer seems to be set to break some sales records. Over the last decade or so Microsoft has been trying to make a name in the hardware business, without much success. It wasn‘t until the Surface Pro 3 got launched that Redmond really found wide acceptance from consumers, and it was hard not to as the company did a tremendous job with the product.
The latest Microsoft offerings, the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book are looking to keep the momentum going by growing their customer base as quickly as possible. In an interview with Wired, Panos Panay (VP for Surface Computing at Microsoft) indicated that pre-orders for the Surface Book have been “huge”. The pre-orders reached a point where the company is selling them faster than it can make them.
Panay calls the Surface Book the ultimate laptop, and even shared how much of a wow factor it was to actually share the product with Satya Nadella, other Microsoft executives, and even retail partners. The Surface Book gained its fame recently when its performance was tested and compared to Apple’s latest Pro products. Needless to say, after that showing I can see a lot of people opting for the Microsoft Mac Book, I mean Surface Book in the near future!
