The build-up to the festive season looks set to be a great one for Xbox One owners; Microsoft have confirmed today that the firm’s flagship console will officially become backwards compatible on November 12.
Microsoft’s community manager, Larry Hryb, announced on Twitter earlier today that the update will begin a global rollout starting on the 12th, for all Xbox One owners regardless of territory.
Backwards compatibility will now allow the Xbox One to run a selection of Xbox 360 titles, which will be expanded upon every month – the highlight of the first crop to see release being BioWare’s 2007 hit RPG, Mass Effect.
The full list of titles set for backwards compatibility is as follows:
- A Kingdom for Keflings
- A World of Keflings
- Alien Hominid HD
- Banjo-Kazooie
- Banjo-Tooie
- BattleBlock Theater
- Defense Grid
- Geometry Wars Evolved
- Hexic HD
- Jetpac Refuelled
- Kameo
- Mass Effect
- N+
- Perfect Dark
- Perfect Dark Zero
- Small Arms
- Super Meat Boy
- Toy Soldiers
- Toy Soldiers: Cold War
- Viva Piñata
- Viva Piñata: TIP
- Zuma
