Most rumours that hit the internet regarding the technology industry these days are most likely true, and it seems it is the case with the upcoming Galaxy A7 from Samsung. Two weeks ago we found out that Samsung will be releasing a follow-up to this year‘s phone of the same name. When the news broke I was immediately irked by the fact that the emerged phone looks almost exactly like the Galaxy S6 and that all of Samsung‘s phones are now starting to look the same (as we discussed in Episode 17 of Bandwidth Blog On Air).
I miss the days when I was still excited when a new Samsung phone was on the horizon.
Not only has the Galaxy A7 been confirmed by the latest leak, but a Galaxy A9 has also been specified via the same source. Strictly looking at the aesthetics, prospective buyers will easily mistake the two upcoming non-flagships for their S6 cousins.
The Galaxy A7 will have a full aluminium frame and glass rear cover, as we‘ve seen previously this year. It will be slightly thicker than the current model, which makes sense considering the change in materials. It will have the same small 2,600 mAh battery under the hood, as well as an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage space, microSD support, NFC and 4G LTE connectivity, as well as 13 and 5MP cameras.
What do you think about the “˜new‘ Samsung devices? Do you like the design or do they look too much like the Galaxy S6 range? Let us know in the comments below.
