In the latest slew of rumours surrounding Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S7, indications point to the handset coming equipped with top-of-the-range specifications; namely 6GB of RAM and either a new Exynos or Snapdragon processor.
According to rumour, the S7 is expected to once again arrive alongside a larger variant, which could be similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge we saw this year, or could take the form a larger ‘Note’ device.
The S7 itself is expected to carry a either a new Samsung-made Exynos 8890 processor or a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
Both processors, which have been recently benchmarked, offer interesting scores; users posting on Chinese social networking site Weibo recorded the Exynos 8890 chipset reaching a score of 6908, with the Snapdragon 820 reaching a lesser 5423 points.
Both options provide exceptional power to a likely S7; in comparison to either score, the iPhone 6S Plus scored a multi-score result of 4351.
Earlier this year, Samsung avoided placing the Snapdragon 810 in its flagship line due to overheating issues, and instead equipped the S6 with an Exynos processor; indicating either that Samsung intends a return to Snapdragon chips, or aims to benchmark its own processer against Qualcomm’s.
